[00:00:00] Jenica Parcell: Hi friends. Welcome to Fearless Infertility, a podcast for women struggling with the mental anguish that comes with infertility. My name is Jenica and after suffering in silence for too long, I was able to pull myself out of the dark, take control over my mind and create joy during my infertility experience. I’m here to help you do the same sister. Let’s dive into today’s show.
[00:00:26] Jenica Parcell: Welcome to Fearless Infertility, Episode 52: 10 Simple Ways to Feel Better Right Now. At the end of today’s episode, you will have 10 really easy ways you can come back to, to help you when you’re really struggling to just take that next step. I created really incredible pajamas and socks as a tangible reminder for you, that you are a part of this really incredible community of women and you are not alone. You can actually not buy them anymore though. The only way that you can get them is by leaving a review on apple podcasts and I choose a winner every single week to send out a pair of my buttery soft bamboo pajamas to, and beautiful socks. The winner of this week is JJo-Bug. Her review title is A Friend in a Time of Feeling Lonely. My husband and I have recently found that our infertility journey will be a long, multi-year long road ahead and it’s been so hard to mentally and emotionally process. I’ve been searching for help to cope and process through this time. This podcast has given me light and comfort in feeling I’m not alone and we aren’t the only ones this has happened to. Thank you for being the voice of a friend, through trails that can feel very isolating. Please email me at [email protected] with your address and size and I will get those shipped out to you. And thank you so much for leaving reviews. The reason why it’s so important for me that you guys do so, is because there are so many incredible women who were not prepared for infertility, right? We’re prepared for going to school. We’re prepared for getting married. We’re prepared for so many of these life events. Most of us were not prepared to find out that we have infertility. And I want these women who are alone, who feel like, okay, where am I going to turn now, to know that they have this community and that these tools that will help them through their experience. So in leaving a review on apple podcasts, it makes the podcast more visible to these women, so we can bring them into our community. So make sure you go and leave a review on apple podcasts and subscribe so that I can pop in your ear every week to give you some new, incredible tools to help you on your infertility journey.
[00:02:33] Jenica Parcell: I hope you save this podcast. I hope you share it with others and let’s go.
[00:02:38] Jenica Parcell: Honestly, y’all happy Monday. And if you’re not listening to this on Monday, happy Tuesday. And if you’re not listening to this on a Tuesday, happy Wednesday. [00:02:50] Jenica Parcell: Oh, my goodness, I haven’t changed a bit. My mom used to laugh at me in high school. She’d be like, I would literally just, your door would be closed and you would just be laughing your head off at yourself. Haven’t changed a bit. Still the same Jenica and I’m glad to introduce you to my hilarious jokes.
[00:03:05] Jenica Parcell: So glad you guys are here with me today. I wanted to first start by updating you on my current IVF cycle. First of all I realized recently due to my IVF coordinator, I don’t even know if she’s called IVF coordinator. She’s called like a coordinator of infertility of sorts. I need to find out what her exact title is, I love her. She’s so accommodating, so kind. I love her so much. But the other day she was saying that someone called the Utah Fertility Center, which is where I go, and said, Hey, I want Jenica’s plan, her IVF plan because she’s only doing these two shots and I’m doing more. And she’s like, you kind of got to educate people a little bit because you’re telling people you’re doing IVF, but you’re not really doing IVF, you’re doing a frozen embryo transfer. But who knows what FET means? Most people don’t, right? We all know what IVF is, it’s like a common term. So here’s, here’s the educating part I will do for you if you were confused as well. I was confused personally. I thought I was just doing IVF again, which I kind of am, but it’s technically a frozen embryo transfer.
[00:04:06] Jenica Parcell: IVF stands for in vitro fertilization, which means you take the woman’s egg, you take the man’s sperm and you make an embryo out of the two. And Tyler and I have already done that. We did that back in 2015, which is the same batch, if you will, that we got Harris and Goldie’s embryos from. So during that third IVF cycle, well, I guess we technically, it was the second IVF cycle because the second IVF transfer was technically a frozen embryo transfer. So I feel like I got to like re, I gotta rephrase the situation. I’m confusing myself now. So basically, we’re doing a frozen embryo transfer because we’ve already created the embryos. I’m going to continue to call it IVF because I feel like that’s what everyone knows, but I also didn’t want to give false information. So we did IVF, which created the embryos and now we’re doing a frozen embryo transfer with the embryos that were created during IVF. Who’s confused? Raise your hand. Uh, okay.
[00:05:04] Jenica Parcell: Anyways, so I wanted to update you guys on my IVF, no, IVF transferred, no, it’s not that. I wanted to update you guys on my frozen embryo transfer. So, I, and it actually gave me the idea for this podcast episode. I’ve kind of had it for a while because I feel like when we’re needing a little extra boost, it’s nice to have those go-to activities and ideas that will help us along that journey to kind of just pick us up and help us get to that next step.
[00:05:32] Jenica Parcell: So this week was a rough week. Okay? Today that I’m recording this is a Wednesday and Tuesday was a little challenging because Monday, I was very nauseous due to the estradiol valerate injections I’m giving myself. Basically, I feel like I’m pregnant, but I’m not. So my boobs are achy. I have bloating in my stomach like you wouldn’t believe. I literally can’t put on my pants. Like maybe I could squeeze into them, but like, why? You know what I’m saying? So I’m going ahead, and, um, if somebody has the address of the person who created leggings, I feel like I definitely need to send them a gift to thank them for the fact that I can get dressed right now in leggings. And so needless to say, I’m just not feeling amazing this week because of those injections. So I took the leftover Diclegis that I had from when I was pregnant and Diclegis is essentially Unisom, B6 and B12 in a form that the pharmacies have distributed. I feel like it’s more effective than taking those items separately or taking Unisom, B6 and B12 separately. And I actually ended up taking it almost my entire pregnancy last time. I tried to get off of it, I think in my second trimester, and I got super nauseous again, so I’m like, okay, we’re doing this. We’re going to take it the entire pregnancy. So I messaged my IVF coordinator and I said, Hey, can I take this? And she’s like, yeah, no problem. So I took it, but the problem is it has Unisom in it. Now, if you’ve ever taken Unisom you know what I’m talking about, and maybe it doesn’t affect you like it does me, but I literally felt like I was on NyQuil for 24 hours straight. Medicine’s affect me a lot more strongly than other people I feel like, so I can’t take NyQuil because for me, it’s not worth it to feel like I am like a zombie for 24 hours straight. So that’s how I felt with Unisom slash B6 slash B12 combo, which was Diclegis.
[00:07:17] Jenica Parcell: So yesterday, my mom comes over for lunch. And she’s like, how ya doing? And I’m like, honestly, I just, I think I’m going to quit. I think I’m just going to quit at all. And she knows me. She knew that I wasn’t feeling super well. We kind of talked through it. And I’ll kind of go into more about that later on in this episode, but long story short, I’m like, we’ve got to have an episode here that you guys can just listen to, maybe you’ll repeat it, maybe you’ll save it and listen to it over and over again, when you have those days where you’re like, I’ve just got to have an idea on how to feel at least a little bit better right now.
[00:07:50] Jenica Parcell: Now in the coaching that I do, and in the model that I teach in my program, you will learn really, really well, how to apply the model that I teach to help you change your thoughts and help you to determine which thoughts are giving you really crappy results that you may not be aware of right now without knowing the model. And I’m really excited about that. So make sure if you’re not yet, you guys, get on my email list. If you go to fearlessinfertility.com, you can sign up for my Morning Mindset Magic Checklist, and that is also really great way to start your morning because it gives you these seven things to do or never do every single morning. I refined this list over two years, things that were working for me, things that I noticed that really were setting me up for, not my best. And I refined this list for you. So go to that website, fearlessinfertility.com, put in your name and your email. I’ll send you that free checklist. And you’ll also be one of the first to know about the program when it launches in April.
[00:08:52] Jenica Parcell: And I have members in my program right now and currently on the, in the background, I’m so excited because I’m working with this woman who has a PhD in human behavioral psychology. And it’s incredible because she’s helping me design a really incredible program, where I’m able to walk you through learning this model that will change your life for the better in all areas, specifically infertility, right, because that’s what we’re going through right now, but it will help you in every area to feel less anxious, feel more in control of an experience that feels very out of your control, and she’s helping me design this program so I can walk through it with you hand in hand so you can learn what I have learned. And it’s going to be incredible. So make sure you are signed up for my newsletter so that I can message you that information when we launch and we’re doing it in cohorts. So I want you to feel like, I mean, we’re going to get to know each other really well. We will do it in cohorts, starting April for every quarter. So it’ll be three months of intensive work with me, and then you will have the opportunity for continued learning and application in the membership with workshops and with professionals that I bring in to help you in your infertility experience. So sign up for that. I will see you in your inbox, and I’m really excited to get to know you.
[00:10:10] Jenica Parcell: So latest update with IVF slash frozen embryo transfer, is I went in on Monday for an ultrasound and they wanted to check to see if my uterine lining was thick enough. Uh, make sure that the estradiol valerate was doing its job. It is. Good news. I also feel like I’m pregnant and I’m not. So, I mean, is that good news? I don’t know. All signs point to we are in the right direction, though, for a successful frozen embryo transfer next Friday. And we did a blood draw to make sure my estrogen levels were right and so everything’s on track. I had a really weird side effect the other day. So I accidentally cut my finger and I’m on 81 milligrams of aspirin every night and it helps prevent clotting in your blood, but the problem is, is that when you get a cut, you just keep bleeding. So like normally your cuts will kind of seal up and my finger has been bleeding for three days straight. Goldie’s horrified. So if anyone sees her, just make sure to pat her on the back and tell her mommy is going to be okay because she’s like, mom, I’m like, honestly Gold, it doesn’t really hurt that bad. It just as bleeding a lot. I know it seems horrific. But, uh, I’m okay. Everything’s going to be fine. So I make sure to update all of this, with future letters, to our future child on asliceofstyle.com. I’m eventually going to be changing this over to jenicaparcell.com so it’s just like everything’s in one spot, but you’ll always be able to find it at asliceofstyle.com as well if you go to the infertility section at the top and I update all of the updates. Honestly, guys, I have a lot of fun with it. So, I write the, the letter to our future child that we’re trying to have right now and just update you and that child, be it a boy or girl on what’s going on. With the latest updates, with our cycle and the highs, the lows, the funny parts, the sad parts, and honestly, I just try to make it really entertaining because I have a lot of fun writing it and I hope you have a lot of fun reading it too. So I wanted to make sure you knew that was there.
[00:12:09] Jenica Parcell: I also wanted to fill you in, in case you missed last week’s podcast episode, I am teaming up with Coconu for a few episodes to sponsor the podcast. And to be honest with you, I didn’t know if I was going to take any sponsors and just like I am on my Instagram, and with my influencer type of work, I’m very selective about who I work with and they’ve actually partnered up with me or, or asked me to partner up with them in the past, and I was like, I don’t know. It just doesn’t feel like a great fit for my Instagram audience, but it literally is the perfect fit for you guys, because what are we trying to do here? We are trying to grow our families. And what does that entail? Having sex with our partner, right? So I wanted to share with you something that Tyler and I use that we love. It’s called Coconu, and it is 100% all natural, personal lubricant products. I absolutely love them, particularly because one, they work really well. They have oil-based products. They have water-based products. They have really cool products that work for you and they are completely clean. And that was really, really important to me in choosing any products because of my Epstein-Barr that I went through, and recovering from that, it was very challenging for me. And really at that time in recovery started to take a look at the products that I was using and the impact of the products that I was putting on my body and in my body. And I did a ton of research, and really discovered a lot about products that I’m like, how was I, how did I not know this before, right? But I think until you have something that really kind of snaps you out of just your routine, it’s kind of like, why would you look for other products? Like these are working for me. I’m fine. Right? Well, it started to not work for me because I was feeling really sick and I needed to really remove the toxin load from my body and from what I was eating. And so I love Coconu because it’s really incredible personal lubricants that are free from genetically modified organisms, alcohol, petroleum, parabens, gluten, phthalates, fragrances, and dyes. Something that I really look for, just as a side note is that the products that I use are free of phthalates, which mess with our hormones. And for those of us who are experiencing infertility, know that when our hormones are messed up, it can really interfere with our fertility. And phthalates mimic your hormones so that your actual hormones can’t do their job. So I just wanted to share this with you. If you go to coconu.com, you can use code FEARLESS for 15% off any of their products. I personally love the oil-based lubricant and I hope you guys love it as well.
[00:14:54] Jenica Parcell: Alright. So today I wanted to offer you 10 simple ways to feel better right now. And I really believe in choosing thoughts that serve us, and I also know that there are really challenging times in our lives where we’re just in survival mode, right? We are really just trying to take that next step forward, and sometimes that feels a little bit too hard. So I wanted to offer you this list that you could come back to and refer to, and maybe get some ideas on things that will help you to feel more like yourself, to motivate you to take that next step, realize that this pain and this suffering won’t last forever.
[00:15:35] Jenica Parcell: So the first thing that I suggest that really helps me a lot is when I’m feeling out of control with infertility, and when I’m trying things that aren’t working and when I’m just getting that no over and over again in infertility and in other areas of my life, something that helps me a lot is to choose things that do, that I can control. And one of those things is cleaning up and organizing. I always know that that makes me feel better with my environment, right? If I am in a clean, organized environment, my mind is feeling very cluttery, right? I’m trying to choose those thoughts that are serving me, but it sometime can be really hard. And so for me, when I step back and say, all right, my mind feels cluttery and my environment feels cluttery, it’s too much, right? So for me, cleaning up and organizing my environment, whether that be a closet, whether that be a drawer, whether that be making my bed, anything that can kind of give me that sense of control again, when my mind feels so out of control, really helps me to feel a little bit better in that moment.
[00:16:40] Jenica Parcell: Number two, going for a quick walk and sometimes I feel like in our brains, we feel like we have to fully commit to something, right? If I go for a walk, it’s going to be a 30 minute walk. I’m going to make sure to get at least a couple of miles in. For me, something that’s helped me a lot that has kind of helped me reset when I’m feeling a little bit tired or frustrated is to put on my Uggs and my freaking sherpa, .No, I’m just kidding. My giant coat cause I live in Utah right now, but to get outside for literally five minutes. So I will throw on my boots. I’ll throw on my jacket, I’ll zip it up, and I will head outside and go for a walk. And it’s sometimes it’s literally five minutes. I’ll go down this street that’s right below mine, in their little col-de-sac, I’ll walk around and I’ll walk right back up and just getting that fresh air and moving my body and getting a new change of scenery kind of helps me to reset. And that fresh air really helps a lot. So try going for just a super quick walk, don’t expect yourself to like get in a workout or make a ton of progress in terms of the steps you’re getting in that day. Just a change of scenery and a quick walk and getting outside can really help you to kind of get a little bit more of a clear mind.
[00:17:51] Jenica Parcell: The third way to feel better right now is to create a note on your phone and jot down things that inspire you when you are feeling well, that you can refer back to when you’re not. For me I have a note on my phone. It’s titled When in Doubt. So when I’m not in doubt, when I’m inspired, when I hear a quote that really makes me feel good. When I read a story or a conference talk in my church or a scripture that really uplifts me, I will write it down in that note on my phone so that when I am feeling really crappy and when I’m feeling like I need a boost, I can turn to that because I know that I have items in that list waiting for me that have uplifted me in the past that I can easily turn to, to remember those inspired moments. So it doesn’t need to be long. It doesn’t need to take a lot of time. Just create a quick note, whatever you want to title it. Mine is called When in Doubt, because that’s when I turn to it, is when I’m in doubt for, you know, a variety of reasons in a variety of different areas of my life, I will go to that note.
[00:18:59] Jenica Parcell: Something also that I think is super helpful is my number four suggestion on ways to make yourself feel better now, and that’s giving yourself a break when you feel like you’re maybe pushing too hard. Now for me, my default is to work myself to death, right? I get a lot done. I also think that this is a really big area in my life. That I have to focus on and learn from, and I learn a lot about my personality and about self-restraint because I really need to focus on caring for myself. And something that I was listening to the other day, I was listening to episode 429 of Amy Porterfield’s podcast, and she was interviewing someone named Brendon Burchard. And to be completely honest with you. I don’t really know what he does. I think that he is in marketing. Her podcast is about marketing, which I love learning about, and he helps people market. And I think that, I mean, that’s kind of his background. I’ve heard of his name before, I don’t really know who he is, but he sounded really awesome, and he was talking about how he traveled, I think it was to Brazil, and I’m sorry if I’m completely getting all this information wrong, but the general message will be exactly what I want you to hear. So there is a man named Paulo Coelho, I think is how you say his name, and he’s the one that wrote the Alchemist. And the Alchemist is one of the best-selling books of literally all time. I think he was saying that it is the book that has sold the most of any living author. And I guess Paulo had hired Brendan because another book of his wasn’t selling very well and he needed his help. And so he flies out, I believe it was Brazil, I can’t recall what country, and he flies out and he’s working with Paulo for, I think he said like three or four hours, and then they bring in some tea and some snacks for them. And he said, okay, I’ll see you tonight. And I think it was like two o’clock at this time. And he said, alright, Brendon well, I’ll see you tonight. And he was like, oh, did I do something wrong? Like what what’s going on? I just expected to, you know, I flew all the way out here to this country. I’ve been working all day. And or I expected to be working with you all day. And he said something like, oh, genius retires after four hours. And I thought that this was so cool. The whole podcast episode is talking about high performance habits and there has been studies on the most high performing high achieving people in the world and it’s something that they do. And this for me sounds very counter-intuitive, right? Take a break. That’s not, that doesn’t seem productive to me. So it was fascinating for Brendon, who’s also a really high achieving, high performing individual to take a break, right? It seems like, well, you’re not going to work when you’re taking a break, why would you do that? And the fact that he said genius retires after four hours. It was fascinating to me. And I love that. So when you are feeling exhausted, I think it’s important to give yourself a break. And one of the things that Brendon says is in the study that they did, in the most high performing human beings on the planet, they take a break every 50 minutes, like a pretty significant break every 50 minutes. And that was really eyeopening for me. So when you’re feeling exhausted and burned out, let yourself have a break, no matter what that is, right? There are certain things that you like to do. Maybe it’s read a book. Maybe it’s go for a run. Maybe it’s watching a trash television TV show. I’m not judging. I have Netflix too, girl. So give yourself a break.
[00:22:21] Jenica Parcell: The next thing that I suggest as an easy, simple way to feel better immediately or like a quick way to kind of turn your day around is to set up your support system with people who know you and are not trying to fix the situation, they’re just trying to listen. I think that we all know that support systems are helpful, but I was really amazed yesterday, as I was telling my mom about how I was feeling, really crappy, kind of down, and she knows me really well, and I kind of consider her almost a little bit like a coach because she can look at me what’s going on from an outsider’s perspective. She trusts that I’m going to be okay, right? She doesn’t feel pity for me. She doesn’t feel sad for me. She is, she’s a really healthy person and I’m really lucky to have her because she knows that I’m capable of accomplishing and moving through all the obstacles that I achieve in my life, which really helps to give me that self confidence, and because of that, she’s able to look at me in a really objective way to kind of see what’s going on and not trying to fix it. Just try to help me see what’s happening. So I kind of see her as a type of coach. And she can help me see what’s happening in my brain oftentimes when I can’t and offer me perspectives that allow me to understand what’s happening better, and even if I’m not fixing what’s going on, I think at least from that understanding of what’s happening, is a really beautiful place to be. So, I would recommend setting up a support system. And this could be one person, this can be multiple people, but just kind of talking with them, and almost like setting a ground rule, you know, like, Hey, will you be my support system? Are you a safe place for me to come to when I am feeling ungrounded? When I’m feeling like I just can’t really move forward because I’m feeling a little shaky? And venting a little bit. I think that it’s really helpful to do model work and thought work, which is again, please join me in April. I’m so excited to get to know you better. And I also think there is space for, just like that, exactly, space so that you can talk with someone about what’s happening and then try to figure out what’s going on. And I think that when we try to brush the 50% of life that is really hard under the rug, we don’t give ourselves an opportunity to learn, to see what’s happening and grow through it. And so I think that setting up your support system to help you be that space for you to figure it out, I think is really special and I think it can help you to really feel better.
[00:25:15] Jenica Parcell: Number six exercise and show up, even when you don’t go all out. So I actually called my mom this morning and she’s like, how are you feeling today? I’m like, honestly, I’m feeling much better. She’s like, are you still as bloated as you were yesterday? And I’m like, yup. And she’s like, oh, so I’m assuming you’re not working on it. I’m like, no, I’m actually driving there right now. So I showed up because I know I have friends there and I know that knowing myself, I like to be around other people. I like to get out of the house. If I come back after dropping my kids off from school and just kind of am at my house all day by myself, sometimes it’s fine. Most of the time I need the energy of other people, I need to be out and about and have different scenery throughout the day. And that just helps me be in my best mental state. And so I wasn’t feeling physically my best, but I was feeling well enough to show up and I probably haven’t done as many modifications before ever. The workout instructor will show you the full-out way to do it. And she’ll also give you options on how to modify, and I modified most of everything, because when I jump up and down, my boobs hurt. Thank you very much hormones. And my stomach is probably double what it normally is because I’m so bloated, and so it kind of hurt to jump up and down and have a high impact. But I could modify and I had fun and I, I was really proud of myself for getting out and moving a little bit. And so exercise and show up to the things that you know will make you feel better, even when you’re not going all out and be really proud of yourself for that. And I think that will help you to mentally move through what you are experiencing.
[00:26:51] Jenica Parcell: Number seven. Doing something social, if you normally feel better when you do something social. So Tyler, my husband knows me really well. And oftentimes when a party or something comes up that I’ll get invited to and it’s at night. I’m like, I don’t know. I’m not feeling super great. I don’t know if I’m going to go. I’m feeling tired. Maybe I should just go to sleep early tonight. And he knows every single time, my mom also knows this about me, every single time I go and I’m like, oh my gosh, I feel so much better, I’m so glad that I went. I had a conversation that I, that really helped me because, you know, I think that God really helps us through one another’s experiences. And I think that he puts me in other people’s paths that need me and vice versa. And so when I get home, I always feel better. And my mom and Tyler both know this about me, so whenever I tell them, oh, I’m not going to go, which is at least half the time, they’re like, Jenica, you need to get out. I know that you feel better and they encouraged me to go, and I know myself that I do need a lot of alone time. I need a lot of recharging time, but I also am really social person and I love the energy of other people and I love communicating with other people. And so me knowing that and them knowing that helps me to be able to do the things that will make me feel my best and feel better right now. [00:28:08] Jenica Parcell: Number seven. Do something that takes a little energy for yourself, for someone else, because you’re the person that feels that joy anyway. So sometimes you’re exhausted. Right? Sometimes you’re like, I don’t even have enough energy to take a shower. Like I just can’t. I cannot. I’m exhausted, right? Think about something that will help you to look externally. And get out of your own head. And the reason why I say a little energy is because if you’re so exhausted and tired and depressed, that you’re like, I literally can’t even take a shower, then this is going to be something that’s really simple. This could be sending a simple text. This could be sending some food to someone’s house. You know, it could be something bigger. If you need to get out of the house, go shop the aisles of Walmart or target and go through and choose something to drop off to somebody. But this will lift up their day. You can’t control them right though, so the person that’s feeling that joy is you. You’re feeling that joy. You’re feeling the uplift that doing the action will give to you.
[00:29:11] Jenica Parcell: Number eight. Ask your future self, what would make her feel better and then do what she says. This has been a very eye-opening concept for me and actually, as I was creating the details of the program with my friend, the person I’ve hired to help me create this incredible program in walking you through the model and learning it that we’re launching in April, I was telling her, there’s a section I wanted to create for you about habits and about routine. And she was asking me about what has helped me most and, and she had different offers and I’m like, honestly, none of those have personally helped me until I came up with the thought of checking in and having a relationship with my future self. And so if your future self will be really glad that you stepped out of the door and you went to that exercise class, even though you didn’t want to, listen to her. And this has helped me to develop a stronger self confidence in myself, and a really great relationship with myself, because I’m able to trust her and ask her because she always knows, right? I know that my future self will want me to do that and she’ll look back and say, oh my goodness, thank you. And I’ve got her back and she’s got my back. And so ask your future self, it kind of sounds a little cheesy and weird, but just say, Hey, you know, future, for me obviously be Jenica, what would you do? What do you want me to do? And she’s like, alright girl. I know you’re struggling, but you need to get up. You need to get your workout clothes on, you need to go to the gym cause I know that I will feel better if you do. And it’s this interesting, awesome relationship, and the more you do it, the more trust you’ll develop with yourself and talk back and forth with your future self. Now myself right now is thanking my past self saying thank you. I know you didn’t want to do it. I’m proud of you. And it’s like this beautiful self confidence that you develop in trusting yourself and having your own back.
[00:31:05] Jenica Parcell: The last thing that you can do is a simple way to feel better right now is pick up a book, pick up your scriptures, pick up a conference talk, pick up something that is uplifting to you. Now, I’m a religious lady and I don’t think that the adversary would want us to do something like this, which I think is why it feels so hard and challenging. I don’t, I rarely look forward to reading my scriptures, okay? I always, always am glad that I did though. I feel so much better. I feel so much more in alignment with God. I feel so much more in alignment with His purpose for me in my life. I feel like He talks to me through those scriptures, and so I think the opposition is probably from the adversary that wants me to feel like crap all of the time and wants me to hide and not develop my talents and my gifts to help women with infertility. Specifically, I believe is what I’ve been called to do. You have those talents too. You have those gifts too that he wants you to feel like crap, and hide, and think you’re not good enough. And so I think that that is why there’s so much opposition to reading scriptures and things that will uplift you because he doesn’t want you to shine. You are not intimidating to him if you are hiding in your house all the time, not having a relationship with anybody and feeling inadequate, right? So I think that’s why there’s opposition. Move through the opposition and trust your future self in knowing that it is the right choice because you know you’ll feel better in doing that.
